22q Awareness Day

Tuesday, 22nd November 2016 9:00 am

22q is not very well-known among the general public or even in the medical community. It’s time to change that!

November is 22q Awareness Month, and November 22nd (22.11) is 22q Awareness Day. A number of awareness events are hosted by MaxAppeal UK and the International 22q11.2 Foundation. Both organizations are hoping that you can send them your stories and pictures. You can also visit the 22q Awareness Days page on facebook.

Message from Maxappeal

We would love to promote your 22q stories and more importantly highlight achievements, these will be posted each day throughout November via Facebook, Twitter and the Max Appeal website.

Please email us your pictures and a few words (max 100) telling us how you’ve overcome any 22q boundaries so that we can show the world. Please include age and first names. For this to be a success and to achieve maximum coverage we would need at least 30 so please help us get behind the month of November and make it the biggest awareness month to date.

The email address is info@maxappeal.org.uk.

Message from the International 22q11.2 Foundation

Send us a photo of yourself if you have any form of 22q or of your child/sibling etc. The photo should be of high quality and a close up ideally of just head and shoulders but more if you wish. Quality of image is very important as we cannot use blurred images or those where there is too much background. We may crop photos too. There should only be a single individual in the image as it’s easier to fit the details for just one person but we will try and accommodate where parent/child/siblings have the condition.

We need some information. We want to share the struggles but we want to SHOUT out the positives! Look at the poster template below for information about what details you need to send us if you’d like to participate. Email the details to us at 22qAwarenessDays@gmail.com

We’ll create the poster and try and share as many as we can in the month of November. If we’re not able to share yours during the campaign, then with your permission we will keep the details and create and post the posters when we can.
